Litter Crew is an informal collective of volunteers who litter pick in and around Wheatley.
Aim:
To support the parish workers in keeping Wheatley clear of litter, including the boundaries to neighbouring parishes. Parish grounds crew tend to litter pick in the area where they are working anyway and in response to requests from the community.
The volunteers have access to shared litter pickers, hi-viz vests, approved rubbish bags and hoops to hold the bags open.
The Crew has a flexible arrangement whereby members use Whatsapp to post hotspots as they occur and liaise amongst themselves to make arrangements for clean-ups.
A risk assessment is read and agreed by members annually.
