We would like to thank the Mid-Counties Co-op and Alexandrine Kantor/South Oxfordshire District Council for grants which have enabled us to buy an electric Apple Mill and two Fruit Pickers which will be used for our annual Village Harvesting project. (March 2025)
About Us
Sustainable Wheatley is a community group with a shared interest in stepping lightly on our planet through sustainable practices. These practices include actions to reduce waste and support action to recover biodiversity.
Sustainable Wheatley has had several incarnations dating back to 1986 when some Wheatley residents, who were members of Friends of the Earth, decided to band together to advance the ideas of sustainablity in their local community.
Past projects include collaborating on a Fairtrade village accreditation, collaborating to help the local high school get solar panels, composting guides, recycling guides, and other ongoing projects that are listed on this website.
