In the News

That's Oxfordshire recently came to speak with Sustainable Wheatley to film us talking about our village harvesting project and the good this is doing for the local community.

Welcome to Sustainable Wheatley

We are a group of local residents with a passion for environmental issues and making our community a more sustainable place to live in. The group was started off in 2005 under the name of Wheatley Community Action Group and has since renamed itself Sustainable Wheatley. It is one of a network of about 60 Community Action Groups around Oxfordshire each of which is supported by Resource Futures Community Action Group (CAG) Project which is funded by Oxfordshire County Council. This is a pioneering model of supporting, measuring, empowering and connecting grassroots environmental initiatives focussing on waste, energy, food, transport and biodiversity. Groups are offered small pots of funding, insurance coverage, advice with engaging their communities and day-to-day personal bespoke support.
